Arizona Trip

Let me start out by saying that we LOVED our trip to Phoenix! We were glad that Dustin's sister Danielle was able to come with us. It was great and everyone took such good care of us. :)

His Uncle Adam styled his awesome mohawk!

We started out by staying the night in Aurora and waking up the next morning at 5AM to begin our trek. We stopped in Mt. Caramel, UT to visit my Aunt Cami and her family and she had breakfast all ready for us! She is a wonder woman! We had a great visit and breakfast and all too quickly it was time to get back on the road for the next stretch of the journey. We made it all the way to Page before we needed to stop for gas. It was so nice to be in my Dad's Prius instead of either of our cars that get half the gas mileage! haha... Yep. the Prius was A LOT more comfortable. Thanks Dad! :)

10 hours after we began our journey we finally arrived in Phoenix. Hello! The temperature was 113 degrees! When we stepped out of the car I thought time had gone in back in time and we were actually in Cuiaba! But once we got inside Matt and Jessie's house it was cool and nice and we forgot completely about the heat.
Luke LOVED his cousins. Wow. From the moment we walked in and he saw his cousins running around he was laughing and having so much fun! His cousins are adorable! Tyler is 6, Issac is 4, Kennedy is 2, and Beckham is 8 weeks old. It was so fun to be able to talk to Jessie. She is super mom. I just watched in awe as she took care of 4 kids like it was nothing! She is so easy to talk to and she gave me comfort in saying that having her first child was the hardest for her... so maybe there is hope for me and one day I will be able to handle more than one too! :)
Baby Beckham = Adorable!

We had so much fun playing in the pool the first night. Luke even got in! Matt was the master of the grill and we had a BBQ and hung out until Luke communicated very clearly that it was his bedtime. When we got back to our hotel we had one of the funniest moments of the trip. We got Luke all ready for bed and laid him in the pack and play and he just rolled over and looked up at us and clearly didn't like the idea of him being in the there and us being in the bed... so I rocked him for a minute and he quickly went back to sleep so I just laid him in the middle of our king sized bed... and he zonked! He was dead asleep. So, Dustin laid on one side of him and I laid on the other and we all went to sleep... and that is how we stayed until morning! I think Luke wants a king bed! :)
Tired little guy.

The next day Dustin went and did all of his important accounting visits and we played more with the cousins. I loved getting to play with Kennedy. She was born a couple weeks after Dustin and I got married and I think we have only seen her a couple times. She is so sweet and smart! She sat in my lap and colored and she would answer my questions. I just can't believe how fast kids grow up! In a year and 1/2 Luke will be doing those things... nah. Actually, I told him to stay my baby forever so he is just going to stay my little snuggle bug. :)

For lunch we visited more family. Nate and Kayla. They are so nice and we love hanging out with them. Now that they live in AZ they let us move into their condo here in Springville and we are loving it! They moved to Phoenix because Nate got accepted to medical school at Midwestern. Go Nate! Kayla made us some yummy yummy panini sandwiches for lunch and chatted for a little bit. Their little girl Lexi is adorable. She just started walking and was showing off for us and was just walking all over the place like a pro! :)

We stopped back at Matt and Jessie's and once again our visit ended way too soon and after a delicious pizza dinner we were on our way! Luke was a champ and slept almost the whole way. A couple months ago he went through a phase where he didn't like his car seat so we were a little worried about how he would handle the trip but thank goodness all the worrying was in vain. He was SO good the whole time. We just love our little sweetie pie! He made the trip so much fun because of how happy he was.
Such cute kids!!
We made it to Cedar City at 3AM and crashed with my brother's there. They had waited up until 2AM for us... and still when Luke woke up at 7AM they took care of him so I could rest. Even changed his diaper! What good uncles. :)

Mr. Blue Eyes

We had a fun day and took some family pictures on the SUU campus in our fun Oxford t-shirts that they brought home from their trip to England. And that night we went to the musical Les Miserables. I absolutely love that book. The play was a little different than others in the fact that it was all song. None of the musical was just talking. If I hadn't read the book a few times already it would have been harder to follow. But I enjoyed it even though it wasn't a whole lot like the book I didn't think. But I really love the book!

What a fun trip! I apologize that I am long winded... but we just had so much fun visiting our family I couldn't leave anything out! Thanks so much to everyone who made the trip possible! We love you all. :)
