**Happy 2 Year Anniversary! + Moving Day!**

July 31, 2010

2 years ago tonight I have no idea what was going through my head. I can't remember a thing! I thought I was mature and I would be able to remember the very important things from my wedding day but I was wrong. haha... I was just as giddy as I would have been if I had been 18. I loved my wedding day! The week leading up to July 31st was rainy and I was slightly concerned that we would be rained out of our garden reception but the stars aligned and it was the perfect weather on our big day! The Manti Temple was beautiful and our sealer did a special job and said some things to us that we still remember. He told Dustin, "We expect great things from you." We are trying to live up to that statement. What a wonderful blessing our marriage has been. We are still so grateful for the family and friends that supported us that day. :)
Now here we are 2 years later and boy has it been "the best 2 years!" I guess it helps that Dustin is SO patient and easy to get along/live with. Someday I am going to be more like him. :) So much has happened: our Honeymoon Cruise, I started my cooking blog, Dustin got LASIK eye surgery, Dustin got accepted to the Accounting Program and also the Master's Program, I graduated (Hallelujah!), we went on a trip to San Diego, Luke joined us!, and much much more!
So what are we doing to celebrate this wonderful day in our lives... MOVING. haha... But boy are we excited! We are so grateful to my wonderful cousin Kayla and her husband Nate for recommending us to rent their apartment. Also, it is official that we will be staying there until we leave Provo for good. Which is such a good feeling! I will take pictures after we get all settled. After the big move, then we will be going out to dinner (Dustin is surprising me), and then going to watch Crazy for You at the Hale Theater. I was in that play in high school and loved it so I hope I can contain myself and not burst into song. But I better not make any promises.
Happiness is being married to your best friend is and I hope our next 2, 20, even 50 years are as good as these past 2 have been. :)

Johnson Family Reunion

My Grandma Billie Lou is incredible. She has so many talents and one of those is organizing super fun family reunions. :)

July 13-14 was the annual reunion. Up until a few years ago we would go to Fish Lake and stay a couple days in a cabin and go fishing in my Grandpa Jerold's boat. All of the grandkids thought that was the best! Grandpa taught us to be pretty good fishermen! Now a days my parents have a nice cabin up Salina Canyon and we head up there for the fun. This year was a Luau theme. Luke even had a flowered shirt. :)

Here are some pictures to show a little bit of the fun we had:

Luke loved the family reunion!

Grandma Billie holding Mr. Silly Boy
One happy bunch of Hawaiians
An intense moment during the relay race
Adam rockin the hula
Cooper won the prize for the best hula moves. :)
Let the sack race begin... Dustin and I won!
Luke watched with Papa B
Heading off on a muddy 4 wheeler ride.
Luke's 1st PiƱata
Luke almost broke it open... not quite. :)

A special thanks to Papa B for hosting us at the cabin and taking us on the 4 wheeler ride. The food was fabulous (we had some Hawaiian Haystacks) and the company was great! Family reunions are so much fun and we have loved being able to spend time with family this summer!

Someone is 6 months old!

Wow. Can it really be possible? Luke is already 6 months old! I can't believe it but it is true. Yesterday was his big day and he has been trying to get over his first cold. Poor little guy and to add on to that he had his shots and they got swollen and turned into little rocks in his legs. :(
Even with all of that he has been so sweet and smiley. **(Just don't get close to his nose! If I even get close to his nose he gets mad mad mad probably thinking I am going to try and clear his nose out.)**
We just love his little laugh! Ooo! Best sound in the world.
His funny face of the day.

Hi!
Some of the things Luke likes are: baths, apples and bananas, being held, being outside, sucking his two fingers backwards, rolling around (especially on the bed), trees, his mom and dad, babbling, clapping, "Popcorn popping on the apricot tree", his Thomas the train songbook, and his changing table... just to name a lot.
Some of the things Luke doesn't like are: boogers, getting his arms/legs stuck between the bars of his crib, rice cereal... yuck!, strangers, being swaddled, bottles (sometimes), hearing sneezes, and not getting to bed on time. :)

But, enough talking... here are some pictures of the little guy in his pajamas that we finally remembered to take right before his bedtime!

He is LOVING his two fingers!

Smiling for anything BUT the camera. :)

Cabin Fun

On the 4th of July instead of watching parades and fireworks we headed up to the solitude of the cabin! It definitely didn't feel like the 4th of July without all the festivities but it was definitely the right move to get little Luke out of the sun for the day. He doesn't exactly have olive skin in case anyone hasn't noticed. When you take my skin plus Dustin's whiter skin you get skin that looks like milk and that kind of skin gets sunburned almost instantaneously. :)
Getting ready to head to the cabin!

Adam and Luke pulling the same face

We had so much fun. Luke was being a character as always. He loves his two uncles! Aaron and Adam can get him to make some of the cutest smiles. He has them wrapped around his finger and he can get them to hold him and walk around about as long as he wants.
Aaron & Luke

Too bad this picture wasn't a video because Luke was being SO funny!

The cabin was the perfect temperature and the men went on a 5 hour 4 wheeler ride and came back looking like they had been camouflaged in dust. The girls got to stay back and play with little Luke.

Wow.

The food was delicious as always. The ribs my dad made were definitely a highlight along with my mom's delicious chicken salad sandwiches. It is so refreshing to eat yummy food out on the deck in the perfect temperature. Ahhhh... We will definitely need more cabin time before the summer is over because we had too much fun!

Here are the rest of the pictures!
Luke got a patriotic pinwheel and loved it!

And... last but not least...
Luke still LOVES trees!

PEEK-A-BOO!

Hanson Family Visit

Last weekend was baby Peyton's blessing day. It was so much fun to have so many visitors! Seth drove down from Boise and stayed on our ever so comfortable couch bed. It was fun to have him down since we haven't seen him in so long. He had Luke laughing in about 5 minutes by making silly noises. He didn't even mind Luke's constant drool! We just wish we could have seen April and Carter Bug too!
Luke didn't have time to smile... too busy downing his baby Gatorade. (aka. Pedialyte.)

On Sunday Grandpa Barry and Grandma Rhonda stopped by with Chandler, Devrey, and Danielle and we played a competitive game of Phase 10. And the winner was... drum roll please... Grandma Rhonda! We sure had fun and Luke loved all the attention he was given. Sometimes it seems like he has a hard time understanding what is going on when we have visitors. After being alone with me all day it must be a lot for a 5 month old to take in but once he realizes that it means there are more people to hold him and walk around with him... he thinks visitors are great! :)

Our attempt at a group photo. :)

Love is in the air...

Danielle = Lifesaver.
Thanks for babysitting Danielle!

What a fun weekend! Summer is such a fun time because it is filled with family reunions and other fun family times. We love our family so much and are grateful for the love we feel for them!
